On the Road Again.... 2010 Adventures

We took off with more room than we've ever had on this long car trip! Thanks to our snazzy new mini trailer! Handy for long car trips and camping (we'll find that out later this summer hopefully)

We had a nice bonus: Since everyone bugged out earlier for the Canada Day long weekend traffic was light and "fluide" as they say in Québec.
But by-criminy as you drive eastbound on the 401.... all pit stops are SHUT (except for the last one near Morrisburg), which is a minor pain really, as gas is usually cheaper at the off-highway places anyway. However, what Ontario really needs is PICNIC stops along the highway! You know, a patch of grass, (hopefully) some plumbing, so that a person can eat a packed lunch, go the the loo, and not be forced to have your pit stops brought to you by MacDonalds. {end rant}
Anyway, we made good time and had well behaved kids & we were able to make it as far as Lévis an excellent halfway point!

Day 2 was just as good for driving and kids. In an unusual turn of evens we actually DID NOT get caught in a torrential downpour as we came through Eastern Quebec, I think that was a first for us. So, we got to stop at a great little picnic site near Le Bic,  have some yummy cheese curds, and stretch our legs at little...

They we got back on the road!

In the end we got here in good time, were able to have dinner on the deck, have a campfire, and toast the perfect Marshmallow!

Great to see you're blogging your travels again! You managed to run away from the city at a good time. The weather here is brutal.

And, squishy cheese rocks!

Envious of good traveling kids! Mine don't too bad. As long as I ply them with gum! [grin]
